The Role
As Project Manager – Construction Management, you will lead building fabric projects from feasibility through to completion. You will ensure that works are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and compliance. This interim role is critical to maintaining operational continuity across the Council’s estate while permanent recruitment is pending.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver building fabric projects across corporate, leisure, and education facilities
Manage projects from feasibility through to completion, ensuring operational continuity
Oversee contractors and consultants, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards
Ensure adherence to construction health and safety legislation and Council policies
Provide technical expertise in building surveying, construction methods, and materials
Monitor budgets, timelines, and quality standards to achieve successful outcomes
Liaise with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project delivery
Candidate Requirements
Relevant degree in Building Surveying or Construction (essential)
Extensive experience in construction management and building fabric maintenance projects
Professional qualification in a construction-related discipline
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and the building sector
Excellent building surveying skills with thorough knowledge of construction and maintenance
Advanced understanding of construction health and safety legislation
Good technical knowledge of planning, construction, and design
