Summary

Quality Planner

Assignment Type: Temporary, ongoing basis where you will be engaged via Hays.

Location: Chichester

Working Environment: office based on site - hybrid.

Role Overview / Day in the Life

Position: Quality Planner (Project Quality Engineer)

Focus: Works on long-term projects (4-5 years before production)

Key Responsibilities

Participate in meetings with cross-functional teams (engineering, suppliers, internal stakeholders)Lead advanced quality planning activities: Proficient in FMEA, Control Plans, SPC; Create inspection instructions; Design and check fixtures; collaborate with toolmakers; Oversee quality team: 3 Quality Planners (each supported by a Quality Specialist)2 Quality Technicians (hands-on roles)Support safety testing (e.g., TRW Autoliv)

Skills & Experience

Strong ability to influence and communicate effectively in meetings; Confident in escalating issues and driving decisions Automotive experience preferred (not essential)Proven engineering background with New Product Introduction (NPI) experience; Minimum 5 years' experience and an engineering degree; Familiarity with: IQFMEA; Control plans (currently Excel-based); Moving away from Excel-based processes; The Quality Planner defines specifications-requires strong technical understanding.
