Your new company
Our client's purpose is to help nature and business thrive together. They aim to be the most innovative, pragmatic, and fast-growing environmental consultancy in the UK.
They provide a wide range of environmental services, including terrestrial ecology, freshwater ecology, hydrology, arboricultural services, GIS and mapping, and environmental impact assessments. Our team of experts is committed to delivering exceptional outcomes across diverse projects.

Your new role
They have an exciting opportunity for an Ecologist to join their dynamic terrestrial ecology team.

This role involves working with teams based in central England and the North, with most site work occurring between these regions. This is a varied and field-based position, requiring regular travel and overnight stays, especially during peak survey season. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and exploring different locations, this role is ideal for you.
You'll collaborate closely with clients and colleagues, building strong relationships while contributing to meaningful environmental projects.

  • Experience in project management or coordinating surveys.
  • Knowledge of ecological legislation and survey best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to write clear, concise reports.
  • Full UK driving licence, access to a car, and willingness to travel and stay away regularly.
  • Positive outlook and strong desire to succeed.
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIEEM).
  • Experience preparing and issuing client quotes.

Desirable:

  • Protected species licences (e.g., GCN, bat, dormouse).
  • Ornithological and/or botany skills.
  • 2-3 years of sector experience.

What you'll get in return

  • 25 days annual leave.
  • Enhanced pension scheme.
  • Paid professional memberships.
  • Discounted gym membership.
  • Regular social events.
  • Free parking.
  • Rewards for outstanding performance.
