TeacherActive are proud to be supporting a specialist SEND provision who are seeking a dedicated professional to join their team and make a real difference to pupils with a range of complex needs.
As a Children Support Worker, you will work closely with teaching staff, therapists and behaviour specialists to ensure pupils receive the individualised support they need to thrive. You’ll be working with students who may present with PMLD, SLD, ASD, communication delays and social/emotional needs, so a calm, patient and adaptable approach is essential.
What you’ll be doing as a Children Support Worker:

Providing 1:1 and small-group support tailored to pupils with varied learning, communication and sensory needs

Assisting with personal care, therapy programmes, mobility routines and regulation strategies

Supporting the class teacher with lesson delivery, resource preparation and behaviour support

Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage engagement, independence and safety

Collaborating with the wider SEND team to track progress and contribute to EHCP targets
What we’re looking for:
-
Experience working as a Children Support Worker or within SEND settings (PMLD, SLD, SEMH, ASD)

A nurturing, empathetic and patient approach
-
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
-
Willingness to assist with personal care and mobility
-
Team Teach or similar training is desirable but not essential
