About the Role
Leeds City College are seeking a Teaching Facilitator to join their School of Sustainable Technology and Motor. As a Teaching Facilitator, you will play a key role in supporting high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment across the department. Working closely with lecturers and technical staff, the postholder will help deliver planned sessions, support 19+ qualification delivery, and provide supervised learning activities that enhance student progress and engagement.
A central part of the role is to provide reliable internal cover during staff absence, reducing the need for agency staff and ensuring continuity for learners. The Teaching Facilitator will also assist with practical workshops, demonstrations, and classroom support, drawing on their subject knowledge to maintain a safe, effective, and engaging learning environment.
This role is ideal for someone with strong technical or vocational expertise who is looking to develop their teaching skills. The postholder will be supported to grow professionally while contributing to a flexible, responsive, and learner-focused curriculum.
What You Will Do
Contribute to the delivery of qualifications for 19+ learners, providing additional learning support where required.
Provide internal cover for staff absence to ensure continuity of learning and reduce reliance on agency cover.
Assist in preparing, setting up, and supervising practical workshops and demonstrations.
Work closely with teaching staff to support learners’ progress, engagement, and attainment.
Maintain a safe and well-organised learning environment, following college policies and procedures.
Support assessment activities under the guidance of lecturers, including supervision, feedback, and record keeping.
Contribute to curriculum development and improvement by sharing ideas, resources, and good practice.
Engage in professional development to build your teaching skills and support your progression within the department.
About You
You will be an enthusiastic and proactive individual with strong technical or vocational knowledge in your subject area.
You should have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to support and motivate learners of all ages.
Experience working in an educational, training, or workshop environment is desirable, but a willingness to learn and develop is essential.
You will be confident working with groups of learners, able to follow planned teaching materials, and committed to maintaining high standards of safety, organisation, and professionalism.
You will also be adaptable, able to step into sessions at short notice, and comfortable working as part of a supportive team.
This role is well suited to someone who is looking to develop a career in teaching and is eager to gain experience, receive training, and contribute to a high-quality learning experience for all students.
