Crynodeb
Deliver an effective and comprehensive clinical coding training program for all clinical coding staff across the Trust. This will include but is not limited to; trainee program revision program, refresher courses, classifications and standard updates, specialty-based workshops and individual or ad-hoc training needs in order to achieve and maintain the highest level of competency and accreditation. Assist clinical coding management in identifying the training needs of clinical coders to maximize data quality, increase competency and implement improvement plans. Assist clinical coding management with the creation and review of all standard operating procedures and plans relating to training within the team. Identify to the clinical coding management team any audit needs arising as a result of clinical coding staff training. As a Terminology and Classifications Delivery Service (TCDS) Approved Trainer, ensure all clinical coding training is compliant with the framework outlined in the Data Security Protection Toolkit 1 (DSPT) and abide by the Clinical Coding Trainer Program (CCTP) code of conduct when undertaking training. To continue to improve the quality of coded data through delivery of coding awareness sessions to staff groups throughout the organisation; this will require a sound knowledge of HRG tariffs and Mortality indices. To update digital guidance and instruction manuals to reflect changes in national standards when notified by NHS England. Provide appropriate clinical coder cover, to maintain knowledge of local practice and to support achieving coding deadlines. Undertake delegated responsibilities and any other duties as requested from the clinical coding improvement manager.
