We are seeking to recruit a Clinical Trials Manager to contribute to the work of the Oxford Trauma and Emergency Care group. Our aim is to improve outcomes for adults and children with orthopaedic trauma and other patients requiring emergency care. Specifically, you will work as part of our Global Health team to supervise trials and related studies of complex interventions in Low and Middle Income Country (LMIC) settings.
In this role, you will work autonomously as a Clinical Trials Manager, taking overall responsibility for the day-to-day support of the activities of the administrative teams at lead and supporting centres in each LMIC. You will facilitate the identification and enrolment of participating sites; assist the LMIC lead administrative teams in the site set-up, delivery of trial specific training of sites in their country; track progress at each site and organise monitoring visits as appropriate. You will also have oversight of data entry on the trials databases and perform regular systematic checks of information held on the databases as required. Resolve contradictory or incorrect data and ensure these are followed through to a satisfactory conclusion within a reasonable timeframe. In this role you will oversee data cleaning in collaboration with statistical and health economics teams as well as support the Chief Investigator in all aspects of the preparation and completion of progress and final reports for funders and any peer-reviewed publications.
You hold a degree in a biomedical or associated subject, or other relevant qualification, or proven experience in clinical research. You will have an understanding of clinical research methodology, good clinical practice and the research governance frameworks in the UK and LMIC together with previous experience as a trial manager. You will have experience and understanding of techniques for the management of medical research information e.g. data coding, entry validation and reporting. You must have excellent interpersonal skills and experience of working in a multi-cultural environment together with the ability to work respectfully and productively with people who have different cultural values from your own.
Experience working with research teams in LMICs and the ability to contribute ideas for new research projects and research grant applications are desirable.
Please note, interviews for this post will take place on 22nd December 2025.
The closing date for applications is 12 noon on Tuesday 16th December 2025. Applications for this vacancy are to be made online. You will be required to upload a CV and supporting statement as part of your online application. Please quote 183703 in all correspondence
