Apheresis elective and emergency Day Care procedures for haemoglobinopathy patients. Top-up/simple transfusions Providing apheresis emergency procedures that extend to the critical care setting across hospital sites. To support the provision of apheresis services as a skilled operator To develop and maintain essential skills and experience that are essential to providing safe and effective apheresis care. To work towards ensure skill set and standards of apheresis care meet statutory/accreditation requirements (e.g. Care Quality Commission (CQC) essential standards, Quality Accounts, NHS Litigation Authority, and MHRA. Effective pain management with patients in SCD crisis To deliver compassionate person-centred care, treating patients, their relatives/carers with dignity and respect. Supporting clinical trial portfolio and standards. Patient experience To promote and maintain effective communication with patients, relatives/carers and other staff, including the wider haemoglobinopathy team. Ongoing commitment to developing and maintain essential nursing skills that support specialist haemoglobinopathy services.
