Crynodeb

Main Purpose
To provide daily supervision of pupils who attend the school’s internal isolation area.
Oversee the management of student behaviour in the isolation area within the school.
Create a calm working atmosphere with minimum disturbance.
Provide restorative interventions to reduce instances of internal isolation.

Duties & Responsibilities

Student social and emotional support
• Meet regularly with line manager to review work
• Liaise with parents in line with school policy.
• Encourage and empower students in the internal isolation setting, fostering self-esteem and motivation.
• Provide information and guidance to empower students in making informed decisions about their behaviour.
• To support the wider pastoral team to investigate and record behaviour instances.
• To ensure the smooth running of the school's internal isolation process.
• To collate age and ability appropriate work for pupils attending internal isolation
• Ensure appropriate work is completed by all pupils attending internal isolation
• Form positive and proactive relationships with pupils who attend internal isolation and work to ensure they do not become repeat offenders.
• Collaborate with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) regarding students needing additional behavioural support and with special educational needs (SEND).

Administrative duties
• Assist with administration in relation to logging student behaviours and sanctions.


Professional development
• Help keep knowledge and understanding relevant and up-to-date by reflecting on your own practice, liaising with school leaders, and identifying relevant professional development to improve personal effectiveness;
• Take opportunities to build the appropriate skills, qualifications, and/or experience needed for the role, with support from the school


Other Responsibilities

• Responsibility for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• Comply with and assist with the development of policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
• Be aware of and comply with all School policies and procedures
• Be aware of and support difference and ensure equal opportunities for all
• Contribute to the overall ethos and aims of the School and Trust
• Appreciate and support the role of other professionals
• Attend and participate in relevant meetings, training and learning activities as required
