Summary
About the role
Join our team to lead the daily operations of our Food Stop, delivering high-quality food and exceptional service. You’ll manage a small team, oversee food preparation (including buffets), maintain stock and equipment, and ensure compliance with food safety standards. Responsibilities include menu planning, budget control, and creating a welcoming environment for colleagues and visitors.
What we’re looking for:
- Catering experience and strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of food hygiene, allergens, and health & safety
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Level 2, 3 & 4 Food Hygiene certifications (essential)

You will be responsible for
What I do:
- Managing the preparing and serving quality hot and cold food in line with Food Stop
- ways of working and portion control, including the preparation and delivery of buffets for meetings and training courses
- Preparation and stocking of the chilled section, including making sandwiches, drinks and a range of salads,ensuring full area is clean and appropriately presented and stocked at all times
- To manage the till, card machine and safe, ensuring correct procedures are used and sales are recorded accurately with related administration completed in a timely manner.
- To be able to prepare and provide a full menu offer for colleagues ensuring the service is cost neutral, controlling budget and minimising waste
- Create menus in preparation of seasonal, celebratory and diverse occasions.
- Ensuring that daily / weekly / monthly due diligence routines are completed which includes accepting, checking and recording of deliveries, managing inventory of stock and ordering of supplies
- Ensure Costa Coffee machine is clean, filled and operational for use
- Ensure that COSHH, Food Safety and Health & Safety regulations are adhered to, and any incidents are reported in line with procedures
- To assist in the recruitment of Food Stop team members
- Providing outstanding guidance to your Food Stop team creating a positive environment where you team feel welcomed and supported
- Natural positive team manager who is able to take the lead, as well as ability to delegate tasks and responsibility including working alongside the Food Stop Supervisor and Food Stop Assistants
- Manage and appraise Team Members on an agreed time scales
- Good communicator who can liaise with a wide range of Food Stop visitors with confidence
- Attend business and team updates / meeting as required
- Escalate any operational issues and complete tasks as required to the Facilities Manager
- Be responsible for the smooth operation of relevant equipment reporting any maintenance issues in line with procedures Supporting any initiatives taking place in the Store Support Centre.
Skills I need:
• Experience of working in a catering environment
• Experience with Microsoft Office / Outlook applications essential
• Good understanding of health and safety, food hygiene and allergens
• Provide outstanding customer service
• Experience of balancing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Have a passion and flair for catering with excellent organisational skills
• Ability to follow and accurately record routines for due diligence purposes
• Ability to be flexible to provide cover for sickness / holiday
