About Us
Hey there — I’m Ana. I live with IBS and am building a Gut Health Management tool designed to help people like me and the clinicians who support them. I’m now looking for a Founder’s Associate to join at a very early stage and help shape the future of the product and company.
This is an opportunity to work side-by-side with a founder, get exposure to every area of the business, and gain hands-on experience in the realities (and chaos!) of building a startup from scratch.
Who This Role Is For
You’re curious, proactive, adaptable, and genuinely interested in gut health, nutrition, or IBS management. You’re likely a student who wants meaningful work experience, enjoys trying new things, and doesn’t mind the ambiguity that comes with early-stage startups.
This role is not ideal for someone seeking stability, a long-term position, or full-time work. It is ideal for someone who’s excited by learning, experimentation, and having a real impact.
Requirements
A keen interest in gut health, dietetics, or chronic condition management
Preferably a student of Dietetics on an HCPC & BDA-accredited course
Must have the right to work in the UK (unfortunately we cannot offer sponsorship)
Experience in sales or social media, which can look like:
Growing your own TikTok or Instagram account to 5-digit followers
Selling products via your social media
Doing paid promotions for brands
Or working in customer service, retail, hospitality, account management, marketing, or recruitment
Bonus points if you:
Have personal experience with IBS or another gut health condition
Have a close friend or family member who lives with IBS
Identify with ADHD traits such as high energy, creativity, need for novelty, etc (qualities that often thrive in early-stage startup environments)
Also very welcome:
Former founders
Previous founder’s associates
Former executive assistants with experience supporting fast-moving teams
What You’ll Be Doing
This is a varied, generalist role. You may work on:
Sales & Outreach
Contact private dietitians and NHS clinicians
Support sales pipeline management
Help close deals and earn commission on successful sales
Product & Fundraising
Support product research, gather insights, and help run user testing sessions
Share your perspectives, feedback, and ideas to shape the product as it evolves
Help prepare presentations and documents for the NHS, universities, and investors
Marketing & Content
Help grow our social media presence
Assist with content creation (video, written, or community-focused)
Engage with the gut health and IBS community online
Operations & Support
Help organise early clinical partnerships
Provide ad-hoc operational support across the business
What You’ll Gain
First-hand experience working directly with a founder
Deep exposure to the realities of early-stage startup building and software development
Flexibility: remote, part-time, and adaptable hours
Significant learning opportunities and scope for growth
Ownership over meaningful projects from day one
The Lowdown
Startups, especially pre-revenue ones, are unpredictable. We’ll depend on external funding for several years. Things move fast, change often, and sometimes things break.
This role is best for someone who:
Isn’t looking for long-term stability
Isn’t looking for a full-time job
Is excited by early-stage chaos and learning on the go
Why May?
We are currently fundraising and applying for grants, with the expectation of accessing funding by the end of April 2026. Joining early gives you the chance to secure your position ahead of time and start getting involved as we prepare for this next phase of growth.
