Our client, a reputable educational institution in Plymouth, Devon, is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Part-time Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join their supportive and inclusive team. As a Part-time SEN Teacher, you will be responsible for:
- Collaborating with the SEN department to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's specific needs and abilities
- Delivering engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to various learning styles and promote a love for learning
- Regularly assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback and adapting teaching strategies as necessary
- Maintaining accurate records of student achievement, attendance, and behaviour, and communicating regularly with parents and guardians
- Working closely with other teachers, support staff, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student development
- Participating in professional development opportunities to stay current with the latest SEN teaching practices and strategies
- Contributing to a positive and inclusive school culture that celebrates diversity and promotes the well-being of all students
To be considered for this role, you should possess:
- A valid teaching qualification (e.g. , PGCE, BEd, or equivalent) with a specialisation in Special Educational Needs
- At least 2 years of experience teaching students with SEN in a primary or secondary school setting
- A deep understanding of various learning difficulties and disabilities, and proven strategies to support these students
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
- A patient, empathetic, and caring nature, with a genuine passion for helping students succeed
- Proficiency in using educational technology and assistive devices to enhance learning experiences
