What skills and experience we're looking for
The successful candidates will be required to teach Design & Technology or Art at Key Stage 3, so teachers with experience of teaching the national curriculum in these subjects are encouraged to apply. Furthermore, suitablyexperienced candidates will have opportunities to teach either GCSE Design & Technology, Art or BTEC Construction. Experience of teaching BTEC Construction would be advantageous.
This vacancy would be suitable to teachers of all experience levels.
What the school offers its staff
The candidate will be joining a supportive and hugely successful Technology department in which we celebrate the creativity and innovation of our pupils. The Technology department works closely with the Science department, and is supportive of a range of approaches to problem solving and the iterative development of design ideas. We actively encourage pupils to experiment with a wide range of materials and construction techniques which results in a diverse range of design outcomes.
The successful candidate will contribute to Key Stage 3 teaching across the Technology Department. Training and support will be provided dependent on the experience and skillset of the successful candidate. Potential candidates are encouraged to contact the school to speak to the Department Leader, Andy Walker, prior to application.
