The IDD service provides specialist care for those aged over 18 with intellectual disabilities and neurodevelopmental conditions, focusing on those whose needs cannot be met by a mainstream provision. We work to improve the mental and physical wellbeing of our service users. Within the IDD Service, we take a holistic, person centred approach to meeting individual needs and ensuring that people receive the support they require to live a fulfilling life within their local community. Assessment and treatment is delivered by our Community Intellectual Disability Teams across Nottinghamshire. Where there has been an increase in risk or deterioration and the mental health issues cannot be managed in the community, then intensive support can be provided by our Intensive Community Assessment and Treatment Teams assessment and treatment is delivered in our inpatient Unit. Where community options are no longer viable, we have a local IDD Assessment and Treatment Unit which receives admissions from across the county.

The focus of the role will include the assessment and management of new and existing patients, GP liaison, MDT meetings, medicolegal work (MHA/ Sec 12) and participation in on-call rotas. There will be an emphasis on providing leadership and consultancy to the team and contribute to the transformation programme.

This post is a full time post with 5 sessions based at Newark and 5 sessions based at Bassetlaw (Community Intellectual Disability Teams).
