Your role:
The Digital Support and Delivery Apprentice role will be part of a team and service that is crucial for maintaining an efficient IT service support function within Wigan Council. As an apprentice, you’ll troubleshoot issues, follow up on queries, maintain documentation and participate transitioning new IT functions into service. You’ll collaborate with IT support teams to provide excellent service to our internal users and external clients. The apprenticeship offers hands-on experience in IT service management, customer support, and process improvement. Additionally, you’ll work with various service areas to maximize technology benefits. Your team responsibilities include coordinating team efforts, engaging stakeholders, and upholding the council’s core values.
About you:
We’re seeking an enthusiastic individual to contribute to our diverse IT service. While IT expertise isn’t mandatory (training will be provided), familiarity with Microsoft technology and basic IT terminology is desirable. Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and a drive for success are essential. Good listening skills and the ability to prioritise tasks independently are crucial.
