About the Role
An exciting opportunity has opened up for a housekeeper to join our residential children’s home in Camden.
This role extends beyond just cleaning, as an integral part of the team you will be making a difference in the lives of our young people. Supporting each child to develop fundamental life skills that they can use within the home and as they grow towards independence. Your role will also include assisting our chef with meal planning and preparation for our residents on a weekly basis.
As a member of our team you will contribute to the quality and experience of our service, ensuring all young people and visitors (including family, guests and professionals) feel comfortable and at home.
A summary of some of the main duties and responsibilities include:
· Cleaning all rooms including fixtures and fittings, furniture and equipment
· Ensuring that the household is clean, hygienic and safe. Monitoring the home to identify any unsafe condition, hazard or risk within the home and report accordingly
· Supporting our young people with their washing and laundering bedding and clothing as required
· Collaborating with staff to engage young people in aspects of their independence programme including basic household duties and maintaining a healthy and clean environment
· To be aware of Health and Safety legislation, basic First Aid and the COSHH risk assessment
· Taking the lead on bedroom standards within the home. Ensuring bedrooms are ready and set up in preparation for new referrals in line with company standards
· Flexibly work to meet the changing demands of the service by taking on any additional tasks and responsibilities to ensure the safe daily running of the home
What we offer
When you join our team, you’ll be welcomed into a supportive and nurturing environment where your growth truly matters. At KPMS, we are committed to investing in our staff, and you will receive a thorough and high-quality induction alongside comprehensive training to help you feel confident in your role.
We believe in helping our team members reach their full potential. Throughout your time with us, you’ll have access to a range of training opportunities including certified courses.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for a dedicated and resilient individual who can contribute to a supportive, caring environment for young people. The role can be demanding at times, so you’ll need to be adaptable and able to maintain high standards while working closely with the team to ensure the home remains safe, welcoming and well-maintained. You should be confident building positive relationships with residents and colleagues, committed to your own development, and motivated to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people.
To be considered for shortlisting, your application must clearly demonstrate:
· Previous cleaning and housekeeping experience
· Flexibility, strong organisation skills and the ability to work methodically
· Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build appropriate, professional relationships with young people
· Confidence working both independently and as part of a team
· Awareness of Health & Safety and COSHH (or willingness to learn)
· A commitment to ongoing training and personal development
