Summary

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday

At Housing 21, we believe that home is where the heart is — and our people are at the heart of everything we do. We’re passionate about creating comfortable, safe, and welcoming environments where older people can live independently and thrive — and our dedicated colleagues are key to making that happen.

As a proud holder of the Investors in People Platinum standard, we’re committed to helping every team member grow, learn, and feel supported. When you join us, you become part of a friendly, close-knit community that values your skills and the difference you make every single day.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Handyperson to join our caring team in one of our beautiful Retirement Living schemes.

In this role, you’ll make sure our residents enjoy a well-maintained, safe, and pleasant home environment — completing small maintenance jobs, minor repairs, and proactive upkeep around the apartments and communal areas.

Every day will bring something different, but one thing will always stay the same: your work will directly improve the quality of life for the people who call our community home.

If you take pride in a job well done, enjoy working with older people, and love being part of a team that genuinely cares — this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has experience in the building trade or as a handyperson
• Is confident using tools and equipment safely
• Can carry out basic carpentry, plumbing, decorating, and electrical tasks
• Can spot and solve small issues before they become big problems
• Has a friendly, approachable manner and a genuine desire to help others

Why Join Us?

We know that taking care of our people helps them take care of others. That’s why we offer a great range of benefits, including:

• Generous holiday pay
• Occupational sick and maternity pay
• Health Cash Plan (for colleagues working 10+ hours per week)
• Blue Light Card – with discounts across shops, restaurants, and leisure
• Car lease and cycle to work schemes
• Employee Assistance Programme for you and your family
• Ongoing training and development to help you grow your skills

If you’re ready to put your practical skills to use in a role where you’ll make a real difference every day, we’d love to meet you!

Apply today — and help us keep our residents’ homes safe, welcoming, and full of life.
