FTE Salary: Up to £24,312.00 (Salary is dependent on qualifications and experience)
Actual Salary: Up to £13,141.62
Contract Type: Part Time, Fixed Term until 31st July 2026
Working Hours: 20 hours per week (Monday/Thursday/ Friday)

South Gloucestershire & Stroud College (SGS) is seeking a dedicated and creative Technical Specialist in Makeup to join our vibrant team. In this hands-on role, you’ll play a vital part in supporting our specialist makeup and prosthetics provision by preparing and maintaining studios, workshops, and equipment to ensure they’re ready for inspiring teaching and learning. You’ll help drive the quality of our resources, manage materials, tools and studio spaces and assist lecturers and students during practical sessions.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a passionate community where your skills directly contribute to the development of future specialist makeup artists. You’ll carry out risk assessments, ensure safe working environments, and be a go-to source of support for both staff and students.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
-Maintain rooms/studios/workshops and equipment and ensure they are ready for tutor/student use.
-Ensure rooms/studios/workshops are left in an appropriate state.
-Management of day-to-day resources including materials, supplies, brushes and tools
-To drive the quality of provision through the resources.
-Prepare materials/equipment for lecturers as required.
-Assist lecturers during classes as required and provide students with technician support.
-Carry out risk assessments and reviews of equipment and materials.
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
-GCSE Maths and English grade 4 or above
-Art & Design Degree or equivalent
-Experience of working in education
-IT literate
-Experience of working with specialist make-up and prosthetics
