A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a sociable person who likes to go out and meet people, but I can struggle to make new connections and would like some assistance in helping me to grow and maintain these connections going forward, I would like to improve my home and may also need some assistance with this as I don’t always know how to go about this, I live by myself and have autism however I disagree with this diagnosis.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
I would like someone to help me organise and plan my week as it is important to me that I have plenty of notice when arranging things , also someone who would be happy to assist in making improvements and changes to my home environment and to assist with some light tasks like going through some correspondences which I don’t always know how to approach, a willingness to help me link with other services which may be beneficial to me.
HOURS OF WORK
2 hours per week, day can be flexible but I prefer the afternoons.
RATES OF PAY
£14.00 per hour
TASKS CAN INCLUDE
Light domestic tasks (assisting with recycling, assisting with correspondence, helping to buy cleaning equipment and offering advice re how to tackle issues)
Assisting me around the home and recommending or assisting with some improvements that may be beneficial to myself.
Helping me look into some other services that may benefit me.
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
I need someone who is equally proactive as they are patient, while it can take me some time to get used to new ideas, too much time can lead to me becoming more anxious and as a result makes me less likely to do them.
I need someone understanding, who accepts that my thinking can be rigid and I can struggle to accept help when feeling overwhelmed.
I need someone who can give me boundaries in order for me to better understand the remits of the support they can provide.
I need someone of a kind and understanding nature.
ABOUT THE JOB
This will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period of six months will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four-weekly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay. This post is subject to an enhanced police check (DBS) and training may be required if identified by the employer.
