Day and Time– Typically 5 hrs a day, Monday–Friday but hours may be adapted flexibly depending on SP’s needs
1-1 support for SP, a 29-year-old male with Cerebral Palsy, Sensory Processing Disorder, Dyslexia, Clinical Anxiety & Depression. SP is wheelchair user and support is required to promote independence, wellbeing and meaningful community participation.
SP is looking for a PA who is laid-back, calm, and a good personality match—someone who will take the time to get to know him, understand what is important to him, and fit well within his family dynamic. Some of the activities SP enjoys is going to the cinema, bowling, looking around the shops and trips to the park.
Key Responsibilities:
- Person-centred support in the community
- Assist with mobility and wheelchair transfers
- Support with routine, communication, and managing anxiety
- Help with outings, appointments, and planning activities
- Light personal care and assistance with food preparation
- Support with travel, money-handling, and online bookings
Skills & Experience:
Essential: care experience, understanding of disability & anxiety, good communication, reliability, and confidence supporting wheelchair mobility.
Desirable: community support experience & PBS awareness.
