Summary


A whole-time post as Head and neck surgical oncology fellow with Otolaryngology background is available at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford for 12 months from August 2026. The post will have an out of hours commitment on the registrar on call rota at the John Radcliffe Hospital.

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust is looking to appoint a Head and Neck Surgical Oncology Fellow. This is a fixed term post for a duration of 12 months. The post holder should be post CCT. They must have experience of working within the NHS and be able to demonstrate a good command of the English language. Clinical

ThepostholderwillgainspecialisttraininginheadandneckoncologyENTelectiveandemergency care, with a general out of hours on call commitment of 1 in 9. They will provide a specialist head andneckENTserviceatsecondarycarelevelincludingleadingthewardround,assessmentof2ww patients, investigation of potential malignancy, presentation and assessment at MDT, and major resection of head and neck malignancy. They will participate in an emergency service cover out of hours at registrar level.
Teaching/Research

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is a teaching hospital trust, and the post-holder will be required to participate in programmes for teaching clinical students, training junior doctors andinclinicalexaminations.Itisexpectedthatthiswillbeanintegralpartofeverydayclinicalactivity.

The appointment is Full Time only.

An indicative timetable is outlined below. The final timetable for the post will be agreed with the clinical lead upon appointment. The Trust expects Clinicians to spend typically 80% of their time on clinical work, and up to 15% on teaching of clinical students, training of junior doctors, continuing medical education and professional development and clinical governance activity. Up to 5% of time may be spent on administration or management, though the proportion may vary from time to time by agreement with the clinical director.
