Job Title: Support Worker

Location: Watford, Hertfordshire - WD3

Rate of Pay: £13.50/h

Shifts: Alternate Weekends / Nights / Days

Contract Type: Full-time / Part-time / Bank

About the Role

Care assistant will help client who has Type 2 diabetes (insulin-dependent) and Korsakoff's dementia. Her sleep and wake times are unpredictable, and she can sometimes exhibit challenging behaviours.

Your Responsibilities

Diabetes Care:Care assistant will assist with insulin management, checking blood glucose (CBG) levels, and ensuring the client follows a nutritionally balanced diet that is low in sugar.

Dementia Support: Provide patient and adaptable care, understanding that her routine can change on a daily basis. You will need to manage and de-escalate occasional challenging behaviors with a calm and empathetic approach.

Personal Care: Help with personal care, medication management, and meal preparation.

Companionship: Offer friendly companionship and support.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 6 months of professional care experience
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Up-to-date CV with full work history
