We are recruiting a Head of Knowledge and Information Management Operations to join and lead the Knowledge and Information Management function that forms part of DCMS’ DDaT Directorate and is business critical team within the Chief Technology Officer Division.
We are recruiting an Information and Record Manager to join an existing and growing Knowledge and Information Management function that forms part of DCMS’ DDaT directorate. This role will have exposure to all functions and directorates within DCMS, and support development in a wide range of knowledge and information management. The role will support teams to work more effectively by using information to drive change and support future ways of working, helping deliver first class public services as efficiently and effectively as possible, whilst also supporting the department to demonstrate compliance with legislation and policies.
- Support the promotion of good knowledge, information and records management across the department, supporting wider change management by driving an improved information culture and behaviours
- Facilitating teams to use and manage information more effectively and efficiently and building new processes to improve ways of working
- Work with a project team to support the effective migration of DCMS information between systems, representing the interests of the KIM function and acting as a subject matter expert for the development of DCMS’ document management systems
- Engage with teams across the business and across government; create and provide training and guidance and represent the department at professional forums
- Deliver and innovatively develop an information and records management service for DCMS’ physical and digital information holdings that meets the needs of users. This will include managing the transfer of paper records to off-site storage, overseeing data retention schedules and maintaining a register of information assets
- Create and manage a network of information champions across the organisation, working closely with our operational data protection team to escalate and help mitigate information risks
- Assist the programme of review of historical records including appraising and selecting files for transfer and permanent preservation at The National Archives in line with the Public records Act (PRA), and overseeing the performance of a third party service in delivering a sensitivity review service, ensuring procedures are followed
