Part Time – Fixed Term Contract

We are seeking a qualified and empathetic Learning Support Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a student with ADHD. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff and the Learning Support team to help the student thrive academically, socially, and emotionally within a boarding school environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Shrewsbury School as a Learning Support Assistant, working closely with a specific student.

In this new role, you will provide support both in the classroom and during one-to-one sessions in the Learning Support Department. You will play a key role in helping the pupil strengthen their academic skills and develop greater independence in their learning. You will be working under the direction of the Head of Learning Support.

You will join a lively and enthusiastic team of support staff, who believe passionately in supporting our pupils to enable them to fully access the high quality of education on offer. We warmly welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences: we firmly believe that diversity enriches our school.

Lunch will be provided on working days. Exact term and Saturday working dates will be shared at interview, but potential applicants are welcome to contact us beforehand to clarify.

A full induction programme is provided for all new members of staff, in addition to a programme of continuous professional development. The salary for the post is competitive.

A full application pack and job description can be obtained from our website: http://www.shrewsbury.org.uk/page/job-vacancies
or email: recruitment@shrewsbury.org.uk

Shrewsbury School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
