How would you like to get paid for five days, but only work four?

At Outcomes First Group, we believe in better work/life balance — and we’re putting wellbeing first.

That’s why we’re proud to be part of a 4-Day Working Week (4DWW) trial, where you can work one day less each week (or equivalent hours), while still receiving your full-time pay.

Many of our schools have already introduced the 4DWW — and others are preparing to roll it out as soon as they reach full staffing. So, whether it’s already in place or just around the corner, now’s the perfect time to join #teamOFG.

Job title: SEN Teacher
Location: New Barn School, Newbury, Berkshire RG20 8HZ
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (not pro rata)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: January 2026
UK applicants only — this role does not offer sponsorship.

New Barn School is looking for a passionate and dedicated SEN Teacher to join our vibrant team in Newbury. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a school that champions the potential of every young person, providing a nurturing and structured environment where pupils with SEMH and additional needs can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

About the Role

As a SEN Teacher, you will have the freedom to bring your creativity and practical teaching expertise to life. You will lead flexible, person-centred programmes of study, tailoring learning to each pupil’s needs and helping them achieve meaningful outcomes. Every day will bring new challenges, but the rewards of seeing pupils grow in confidence, independence, and resilience are unparalleled.

You will deliver engaging lessons across a range of subjects, plan and assess teaching sessions in line with curriculum developments, and create stimulating learning environments both inside and outside the classroom. You will write, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs), set achievable targets, and build strong, positive relationships with pupils to encourage participation and motivation. Supporting pupils with complex needs and promoting their social, emotional, and behavioural development will also be a key part of your role.

What We’re Looking For

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) / PGCE
Experience teaching a broad range of subjects at Primary level, delivering lessons of a good or outstanding standard
Knowledge of current education practices, curriculum frameworks, and SEN provision
Experience in specialist or SEN settings, supporting pupils with SEMH/EBD or challenging behaviours
Creativity, patience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in the classroom
At New Barn School, you’ll join a supportive, skilled team where innovation, collaboration, and pupil-centred approaches are valued. You’ll have the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of young people, develop your professional skills, and be part of a school that celebrates every achievement.

If you’re driven by making a real impact and thrive in dynamic, specialist settings, this is the role for you.
