Monday - Friday, 09:00-17:00
Days of working are negotiable, flexi time is applicable, and starting and finishing times are flexible.

East Lothian Council is seeking an experienced and motivated individual to lead our Procurement Service. This is a key strategic role, responsible for driving best value, compliance, and innovation across our procurement activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the procurement team to deliver efficient and effective services.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with council priorities.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and internal policies.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Ideal Candidate:
- Proven experience in public sector procurement.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement legislation and best practice.
- Ability to influence and drive change.

To manage the Council’s procurement service, delivering best value in commissioning and procurement of goods and services across the Council.

Job Requirements
Relevant Qualifications
A degree in a relevant discipline combined with substantial experience in a strategic procurement role.
Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
Level 2 Disclosure Clearance
This role requires Level 2 Disclosure Clearance. ELC will submit a Police Act Disclosure application on behalf of the preferred candidate and receipt of the subsequent certificate will be required prior to commencement.
