Senior Nursery Practitioner / Deputy Room Leader – Early Years • Full-Time (40 hours) • £13.45–£14.20

A warm, supportive nursery in search of an experienced Senior Nursery Practitioner

Our client is looking for a caring and confident Senior Nursery Practitioner who can also step into the Deputy Room Leader role every Thursday. This position suits someone who enjoys mentoring others, thrives in a busy early years environment, and is passionate about helping children learn and grow.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early years professional seeking added responsibility, consistent hours, and a nurturing setting in which to develop their skills.

What We’re Looking For

  • Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS, safeguarding, and child development
  • Experience working as a Nursery Practitioner or Senior Practitioner
  • Confidence leading a room and supporting colleagues when required
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A positive, inclusive approach and genuine passion for early years education
  • Ability to work flexibly as part of a dynamic team

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Room Leader in the daily running of the room
  • Acting as Deputy Room Leader every Thursday, leading the team and ensuring smooth, high-quality practice
  • Creating stimulating, age-appropriate activities that promote development
  • Building warm, trusting relationships with children, families, and colleagues
  • Ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Observing, assessing, and recording children’s progress
  • Contributing to planning and delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum
  • Safeguarding children and following all policies and procedures
  • Supporting and guiding Junior Practitioners and new team members
