The role

Carlisle Support Services is looking for a HR & Compliance Administrator; this hybrid role combines the transactional and operational excellence of an HR People Team Administrator with the regulatory rigour of a Compliance Officer. You will play a vital role in ensuring both HR and compliance processes are executed efficiently, supporting the business in maintaining the highest standards of service and legal compliance.

Your core role will include but not be limited to the following activities:

• Deliver all transactional HR activities in line with agreed KPIs and SLAs, including new starter administration, processing leavers, and managing HR admin tasks.

• Respond to, process, and manage all vetting and compliance requests for new and existing operatives, ensuring adherence to industry standards such as BS7858 and SIA licensing requirements.

• Conduct Right to Work checks and ensure all vetting processes meet GDPR and legal obligations.

• Issue contracts of employment and contract amendments.

• Handle payroll and Wagestream queries.

• Managing employee benefits, including Core of Carlisle vouchers (distribution and activation), Life Saver awards, Cycle to Work, Long Service Awards, Refer a Friend and any future benefits.

• Administer TUPE, maternity/paternity, and family-friendly policies, including Peninsula letters.

• Record and document employee queries via multiple channels, ensuring accurate and timely responses.

• Maintain and manage employee data using Staffology and Time & Attendance systems, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.

• Support ad hoc projects as required by People Team & Compliance manager.

• Act as the primary contact for SIA licensing and vetting issues, liaising with candidates, employees, and operational managers to resolve queries efficiently.

• Escalate high-level compliance issues where necessary and ensure all processes are completed in a timely manner to support business needs.

The ideal candidate

• Previous experience in an administrative, HR, or compliance role, ideally in a multi-site or complex matrix environment.

• Experience building effective working relationships across organisational levels.

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (grade C or above).

• Competency in managing sensitive information and upholding GDPR standards.

• Good interpersonal skills - personable and professional

• Intermediate level of IT skills in particular Excel (e.g. v look-ups/pivot tables), Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, HR Database)

• Excellent communicator (both written and verbal)

• Proven organisation skills with ability to prioritise in a timely and efficient manner

• Outstanding attention to detail
