Job Title: Quality Inspector
Location: Bradford
Salary: £17-18 per hour
Hours:
• Monday-Thursday: 7:00am - 4:00pm
• Friday: 7:00am - 2:30pm
Overtime available
About the Role:
We are seeking a Precision Machine Shop Inspector to join our team. You will be responsible for inspecting, measuring, and verifying machined components to ensure they meet customer specifications, engineering drawings, quality standards, and industry requirements. This role plays a key part in supporting continuous quality improvement by identifying defects, documenting findings, and collaborating with machinists and engineers to resolve issues.
Responsibilities:
• Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections on precision machined components.
• Interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Verify dimensions using precision measurement tools such as:
• Micrometers
• Verniers/calipers
• Dial indicators
• Height gauges
• Bore gauges
• Surface plates
• CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) equipment (if applicable)
• Document inspection results clearly using company procedures and documentation.
• Identify and communicate non-conforming product conditions, support root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with machinists and production staff to correct dimensional issues and provide feedback on quality trends.
• Assist in maintaining calibration and cleanliness of inspection equipment.
Requirements / Skills:
• Attention to detail and strong numerical ability.
• Experience with precision measuring tools is desirable, but full training can be provided.
• Basic understanding of engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Experience with QTC software is a plus; the role is very user-friendly, and in-house training will be provided.
