There is an exciting opportunity for a Trainee SACT ACP for Haematology, who will work closely with and support Haematology patients receiving SACT. There will be opportunities for service improvement, whilst meeting the overview JD of a trainee ACP, as well as being passionate about Haematology SACT. (Please see attached JD documents for further detail). The postholder should be passionate about SACT but also have had exposure and awareness of the deliver of SACT locally and nationally.

This is a development role to support the pathway of Haematology Cancer patients going through the treatments of SACT. The postholder will develop advanced physical assessment, clinical/diagnostic reasoning and NMP skills to support patients during the 2 years in post.
• Be a clinical expert in Haematological cancer with excellent communication skills. The role requires the ability to work autonomously and independently but within an integrated collaborative team.

• Utilise advanced communication and counselling skills when discussing diagnosis, prognosis and treatment options for Haematological cancers with sensitivity and expertise.

• Co-ordinate investigations, treatments and arrangements for patients receiving treatments in accordance with established protocols and procedures.

• Visit the appropriate areas and review Haematology patients on SACT, providing support, information and educationrelevant to their care and management plan.

• To support a designated caseload of patients and make an assessment of their healthcare needs based on highly developed nursing knowledge and skills, including physical examination, applying NMP skills where appropriate.

• To support the SACT day units by administering SACT, teaching and providing advice.

• To make differential diagnosis using decision-making and problem-solving skills.

• To work with the Haematology MDT and foster good working relationships with other healthcare professionals and users of services to ensure the delivery of high standards of effective healthcare. (This would include pharmacy teams/dieticians/psychologist)
