The University Hospitals of Derby and Burton are looking for enthusiastic Locally Employed Foundation Year 2 Doctor in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Queens Hospital in Burton on Trent.
This is a great opportunity for a doctor to be appointed on a full time,4-month fixed term contract commencing 3rd Dec 2025 to 31st March 2026.
An opportunity has arisen for these appointments to join out team on a 4 month fixed term post, to experience obstetrics & gynaecology on the wards. This post is for someone with an interest in Obs & Gynaecology who has completed their foundation years training within the United Kingdom.
Interested applicants are encouraged to view the length and dates of the placement and apply if they are in a position to commit to the advertised post. Please note that this post may close early if a high volume of applications is received.
This is a locally employed position and is not recognised for training. However, whilst in post you will be afforded the same training opportunities as substantive doctors in post. An active educational programme is operated in the Medical Educational Centre and within the various departments.

• We are the 4thbusiest Trauma & Orthopaedic outpatients department in England – an average of 2077 per week.
• An average of 1115 patients are seen in A&Es across our network every day – 3rd largest in the country.
• Our hospitals admit an average of 195 emergency patients daily.
• Last year we undertook almost 33,700 planned surgical operations in our 57 operating theatres.
• We are one of only 7 Trusts nationally with more than 50 operating theatres.
• We carry out more than 140 elective procedures each working day.
• UHDB is a research active University Hospital with a large and varied portfolio of clinical trials and research opportunities for all staff.
Responsible for compliance with personal continuing professional development requirements with the support of the Trust.
Responsible for maintaining awareness of & acting in accordance with professional guidelines such as “Duties of a Doctor”, “Good Medical Practice”, & the “GMC Performance procedures”.
