​Equans is looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team in London on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package. The Assistant Quantity Surveyor will be a member of the Commercial resource supporting the operational team within the HMCTS contract where EQUANS complete Project Works. They will provide contract commercial management services and profit improvement along with focus on compliance. In addition, they may be required to support growth within the Sector on the existing contracts as well as new business development initiatives to extend the suite of contracts. The post holder will be responsible for delivering the commercial management function across the contract and clearly communicate the obligations and liabilities to ultimately ensure that income is maximised, costs are minimised, whilst the service required is delivered. This is a junior role ideal for someone who is looking for exposure within the FM industry. We are looking for someone with some experience within a similar role, for example construction or project management. What will you deliver?To assist the QS with commercial administration and management on a number of live projectsCollate sub-contract procurement information in order to manage subcontract orders, accounts and variation accounts in line with the main contractAssist on post-tender internal and external pricing analysis/assessment for sign-off whilst ensuring within budgetConduct contract risk and opportunity assessment to identify these areas and plan for them accordingly to ensure pricing remains on budget without undermining Health and SafetyAssist with subcontractor selection for new schemes, ensure the chosen subcontractor has the appropriate order and information to carry out their work, and helping to prepare procurement schedulesLogical and auditable preparation of relevant documentation for valuation, procurement and commercial administrationPreparation and administration of monthly applications and sub-contractor accounts in line with legal obligationsTo support the QS in the management of the day to day cost control, monitoring and reportingReview of sub-contractor accounts and measure progress to assist in submitting valuations, preparing the submission of application for payments, final accounts, and retention releaseMonitor receipt of payment in a timely manner to ensure timely cash flow management for the Client and the group, and the supply chainCompile valuations with QS to prepare internal valuations to determine accurate cost reportsAssist on completing QS documentation (i.e. client invoices) within deadlinesAssist the QS with contractual issues and take action as requiredProcess subcontractor requests for payment and issue of noticesEnsure the Company is neither compromised nor disadvantaged by a contractual or financial arrangementAttend internal and external project and Company related meetings as appropriateWhere appropriate, assist with estimates and negotiations for future projects or phasesProvide assistance to the finance, accounts, and estimating teams as necessaryGeneral day to day administrative dutiesPrepared to travel to and from site and/or head offices within various geographical areas What can we offer you?
