What you'll be doing
As a Technical Officer (Mechanical & Electrical) within the Parliamentary Maintenance Services Team (PMST), you'll help maintain and improve one of the most historic and complex estates in the world, the UK Parliament.
Working across buildings from the Palace of Westminster to Portcullis House, you'll manage and deliver a range of mechanical and electrical maintenance works. This includes preparing technical specifications, supervising contractors and in-house teams, and ensuring all work is completed safely, on time and to a high standard.
No two days are the same one day you might be managing electrical repairs or upgrades, the next preparing for a State Visit or ceremonial event. You'll play an essential part in keeping Parliament's buildings safe, efficient and ready to support the work of democracy.
This role is offered on a hybrid working basis, with an expectation of you spending 40% of your time in the office.

What we're looking for.
- NVQ Level 3 in an Electrical or Mechanical Building Services related discipline along with demonstrable experience of managing engineering services in a complex environment
- Demonstrable working knowledge of engineering Health & Safety issues in a maintenance/construction environment
- Good communications skills and the ability to listen carefully in order to understand requests from a variety of stakeholders
