Senior Electrical Services Engineer
Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 per annum
Working Hours: Permanent, Full Time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm
Location: Cheltenham
Excellent benefits package including 2.5% Golden Hello payment on commencement of employment and up to £2,000 annual retention bonus subject to eligibility criteria (pro-rata for part time employees), subject to achieving and maintaining clearance requirements.
Are you an experienced Power Systems Engineer with a passion for leadership, service delivery, and complex electrical infrastructure?
As the technical leader for electrical service activities, you will be crucial to maintaining and upgrading our core systems. Your role will involve a mix of strategic leadership, project execution, and hands-on technical support
Core Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership: Provide expert advice, assistance, and technical direction to the entire contract team, including commissioning, service, and third-party personnel.
Service & Projects Management: Plan and progress all service-related activities, including testing, commissioning, upgrades, and large-scale outage maintenance.
System Maintenance & Rectification: Perform monthly PPM completion, advanced fault diagnosis and rectification across systems like CMAC, PLC, PME, SCADA, and motor control equipment.
System Upgrades & Client Liaison: Lead design, implementation, and commissioning for upgrade projects. Liaise with service providers (including Powell UK) and the end client to advise on optimal solutions and minimise system downtime.
Reporting: Conduct power quality device monitoring and generate monthly/ad hoc reports regarding power usage and quality.
Database Management: Maintain the ENMS asset database, detailing all on-site activities.
Essential requirements:
Demonstrable Experience & Training: Expertise in LV/HV, PLC, SCADA, VSD’s, PDU’s, UPS & ENMS systems.
Application Engineering: Experience in one or more of the following: power engineering, electrical drive systems, grid-connected systems, and automation.
Component Specification: Experience specifying components, including drives, motors, transformers, switchboards, and panel building.
Customer Focus: A strong customer-centric mindset with experience translating client needs into effective service solutions.
Communication: Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and presentation skills to lead teams and advise clients effectively.
Desirable:
Experience in AP/SAP (Authorised Person/Senior Authorised Person) roles.
Experience in design and system integration on complex, multi-disciplinary projects.
Strong understanding of power system applications, relay application, and coordination.
