Crynodeb
We provide residential homes for adults aged 16–65 with learning disabilities. Our administration team is close-knit, and we are looking for someone who will fit in well, understands our environment, and is passionate about the work we do.
The role is based in Great Houghton, with travel required to sites in Sprotbrough and Denby Dale, so a full UK driving licence is essential. Due to the nature of the position, applicants must be aged 18 or over.
Responsibilities :-
Assist with recruitment processes, including requesting references and completing DBS checks
Process DBS applications and monitor DBS status updates
Prepare employment contracts for new starters and update contracts/documents for existing employees
Enter new starters, leavers and staff changes into the HR system
Provide accurate data for payroll
Carry out general administrative duties
Maintain confidentiality and ensure GDPR compliance
Support HR functions as required
Provide administrative support to management (filing, record collation, document preparation, copying, emailing)
Answer telephone calls, handle queries, or direct callers appropriately
Take and pass on telephone and email messages
Process incoming and outgoing mail
Keep company files organised and up to date
Store and input all data accurately on the company’s computer system
Carry out other duties appropriate to the role
Understand and act on safeguarding responsibilities
Complete mandatory and sector-specific training
Undertake training agreed during appraisal
Provide cover for other administrative team members when required

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
Strong organisational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
High attention to detail

Flexibility in responding to multiple priorities
An Enhanced DBS check will be required as part of the recruitment process.
GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or above are desirable.
The role is 32.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. Training will be delivered on site and off the job, either at Barnsley College or within the workplace. The successful applicant will complete a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship.
