Summary
I am seeking a reliable and positive individual to offer companionship and support to my daughter. She is non-verbal, has epilepsy and uses a wheelchair. She is a calm, happy, and content person who enjoys simple, relaxing activities.
Proposed Shift:
Saturday or Sunday – 6 hours
Duties and Responsibilities
Provide companionship at home while she watches TV and her favourite videos
Accompany her to local cafés for coffee and cake
Support her on short walks when the weather is nice
Encourage light physical activities (guidance will be provided)
Suggest enjoyable activities and be proactive in planning her day
Engage with her in a patient, supportive, and understanding manner
Our family is happy to drive both of you to places for outings if needed. No personal care is required.
About You
You are patient, reliable, and enjoy offering meaningful companionship
You understand or are comfortable learning non-verbal communication
You are warm, positive, and able to take initiative when planning activities
You can support someone who uses a wheelchair and may experience occasional seizures. You will receive clear, easy-to-follow guidance from the family about how to respond calmly and safely during a seizure.
If this sounds like a role you would enjoy, we would love to hear from you.
