Summary
Nursery Practitioner - Qualifies to Level 2 minimum

We are seeking two caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Nursery Practitioners to join our early years team. The ideal candidate(s) will support the learning and development of children aged 0–5 years in a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide high-quality care and education to children in line with EYFS standards.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, emotional, intellectual, and social development.
• Observe, assess, and record children’s progress and share findings with parents and carers.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
• Ensure safeguarding and child protection policies are followed at all times.
• Support children with personal care routines, including feeding, toileting, and dressing.
• Participate in staff meetings, training, and development opportunities.
Requirements:
• Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years Education (or equivalent).
• Experience working with children in a nursery or early years setting.
• Knowledge of the EYFS framework and child development.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A caring, patient, and enthusiastic attitude.
• Enhanced DBS check – this is compulsory along with suitable reference as St Mary’s College adheres to all safer recruitment policies
Desirable:
• Paediatric First Aid certification.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and policies.
