The Opportunity:
A postdoctoral research fellow position is available in Dr. Kathryn Bowles’ lab at the University of Edinburgh UK DRI centre. We are looking for a researcher with computational expertise, who is interested in integrating and assessing transcriptomic (single cell/nuclei, long-read), proteomic and metabolomic data derived from human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived organoids and brain tissues. The postdoc will be responsible for processing and analysing multiple different data types, with a particular focus on spatial transcriptomics and single nuclei sequencing. The postdoc will be expected to work with a high degree of independence in day-to-day work. They will have the opportunity to contribute to numerous different projects across both the Bowles lab and collaborator labs, and is encouraged to contribute their own ideas to the direction of the project. Training will be provided as necessary. The successful candidate must be able to work closely with others as a member of a research team, and will produce material for publication and dissemination.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week).
The salary for this post is £41,064 to £48,822 per annum.
Your skills and attributes for success:
PhD or other higher level degree (MD/PhD etc) in relevant discipline (Neuroscience).
Experience with single cell or single nuclei data
Prior experience with integrating different data types
Expertise in a range of computational analysis approaches
Experience with using high performance computing platforms
