Do you want to join a friendly and dynamic team that supports the delivery of medical and dental education for the healthcare workforce?

We’re seeking an Education Programme Coordinator to provide a broad range of business and administrative support to the medical and dental workforce within the Workforce Training and Education (WT&E) team working in the Plymouth, Bristol or Taunton office and covering the Southwest region

The post-holder will be a key member of the team whose overarching goal will be to support the delivery of a key workforce programme. The role will primarily support the Primary and community care team workstreams.

Please be aware that should you be successful in this position, you will be hired to the job title of Administrative Support and this job title is advertised to attract the right skills needed for the role.

The successful candidate will work with the Training and Education Programme Leads and officers to support the operational delivery of the GP training programme, including national recruitment, programme management, and to implement successful delivery of assessments, Annual Review of Competency Progression (ARCP), rotations (training placements) Out of Programme (OOP), Inter Deanery Transfers (IDT) Less than Full Time Training (LTFT) throughout a learner's journey.

You will need a keen eye for detail, be able to work at pace and manage multiple tasks throughout your role.

Being comfortable with technology and having a willingness to work with and adapt to technology available within our organisation will be a great advantage in this role.

Our work supports the NHS to deliver high quality services for patients and best value for taxpayers.

Our staff bring expertise across hundreds of specialisms — including clinical, operational, commissioning, technology, data science, cyber security, software engineering, education, and commercial — enabling us to design and deliver high-quality NHS services.

We lead the NHS in England by:
• Enabling local systems and providers to improve the health of their people and patients and reduce health inequalities
• Making the NHS a great place to work, where our people can make a difference and achieve their potential
• Working collaboratively to ensure our healthcare workforce has the right knowledge, skills, values and behaviours to deliver accessible, compassionate care
• Optimising the use of digital technology, research, and innovation
• Delivering value for money

Earlier this year, the Government announced that NHS England will gradually merge with the Department of Health and Social Care, leading to full integration. The aim is to create a smaller, more strategic centre that reduces duplication and eliminates waste.

If successful at interview, we will initiate an Inter Authority Transfer (IAT) via the Electronic Staff Record (ESR). This retrieves key data from your current or previous NHS employer to support onboarding, including competency status, Continuous Service Dates (CSD), and annual leave entitlement. You may opt out at any stage of the recruitment process.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external. In addition, they must have excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy in all work.

You will need to be organised and able to plan your work based on competing deadlines, it is a real team based role and working closely to support colleagues through workflow peaks is essential.

You can find further details about the role, including key responsibilities and accountabilities, alongside the organisational structure and person specification in the attached Job Description and other supporting documents.
Secondments

Applicants from within the NHS will be offered on a secondment basis only, agreement should be obtained from their employer prior to submitting the application.
