Crynodeb

Rufford Primary and Nursery School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and ambitious after school club leader and in school support staff member, to join us our school and drive the after school provision forward. The governors of Rufford Primary and Nursery School want our families to have access to as wide a range of opportunities and experiences as possible. This includes supporting parents who want to work with ‘paid for childcare’ and also providing a range of clubs and enrichment activities for all children to do at school.

Our after school ‘paid for’ club has been running for around 2 years and is steadily growing. We are really proud of this provision and are now looking for someone to drive it forward into its next exciting chapter. The right person for this role will be someone who is ambitious for continuing to develop a successful and engaging after school club and has a passion for working with young people of all ages.

There are three aspects to this role:
• After School Club Leader
• 30 hours Lunchtime Provision Leader
• Early Years classroom support / administration support

After School Club Leader / 30 hours Lunchtime Provision Leader

The aim is for the after-school club to be popular and financially self-sustaining within a year. Working families at Rufford do not have a lot of disposable income and so fees will be kept as low as possible, therefore the ability to provide high quality provision on a tight budget will be important.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of childcare for children ages 3 – 11 years old and the need to offer a range of activities in a safe and well organised environment. They will manage two assistants. The after-school provision will run every school day from 3.20pm – 5.30pm.

The role will also involve supporting our youngest children (EYFS) during the lunchtime period, whilst they eat and during their play.

Early Years Classroom Support / Administration Support

This part of the role is to support the children in an afternoon in our early years setting, as well as the possibility of being required to take on admiration jobs in our office, when required and confident in learning how to lock up the school each evening. The role is best suited to someone who can multi task and is confident working with younger children to develop their education.

Rufford’s ideal candidate will be:

- Friendly and approachable
- Truly child-focused
- Passionate and dedicated to giving children the best opportunities
- Committed to developing positive relationships with our school community
- Resilient, a problem-solver and ready to meet inevitable challenges.
- Have a teaching assistant qualification or be looking to take on the training qualification.
- Someone who has a creative outlook and can multi-task well.

Rufford can promise you:

• Fantastic children to work with, who are proud of their school and their learning
• A hard-working and caring staff team, who are committed to delivering the very best
learning opportunities for every child
• An enthusiastic and committed Governing Body
• A commitment to your personal development, health and wellbeing.

In addition to the application form, please submit a supporting statement to Mrs Sally Maddison, Headteacher. This statement should set out your vision, relevant experience, skills and competencies, including the relevant requirements in the Person Specification.
