Job Title: Class 1 HGV Driver- Artic
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent
Location: Climpy
Salary: £16.50 per hour
Hours: 45 hours Monday to Friday
Overtime Monday-Saturday 1.5x and Sunday 2x
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate an articulated lorry (Class 1) to deliver and collect trackway/matting to and from various customer sites across the UK.
- Load, secure, and unload track mats using appropriate lifting or securing equipment, following all safety protocols.
- Perform daily vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance issues in line with company procedures.
- Plan routes effectively to meet delivery schedules while complying with driving hours and rest period regulations.
- Liaise professionally with site managers and logistics teams to ensure accurate deliveries and collections.
- Maintain accurate delivery notes, manifests, and timesheets.
- Tramping required-ensuring proper rest, cleanliness, and security of vehicle and load.
Requirements / Skills
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence, Driver CPC, and digital tachograph card.
- Experience with trackway/matting delivery or similar heavy plant/construction materials (preferred).
- Strong understanding of load security and site safety requirements.
- Flexibility to work away from home during the week (tramping).
