What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking applications from outstanding applicants with integrity, imagination and energy for this rewarding role. Our Learning Manager team is one of the great strengths of the academy and they support students pastorally and academically in order to ensure that they are successful in the widest sense in school. Working as part of the wider inclusion team, you will monitor all students in a particular year group providing them with a familiar friendly face and an excellent role model. You will need to have a good understanding of the wide range of challenges experienced by secondary school students but in particular the problems that our most vulnerable students face.

You will work closely with the Inclusion Team and the Vice Principal Deep Support on intervention strategies to support the academic achievement of all students. Your role will have an emphasis on intervention and student tracking using the school’s “Praising Stars” system. You will attend case conferences and other meetings regarding students in your year, alongside preparing referrals and reports for those students identified as needing intervention.

You will contribute to an atmosphere of respect, recognition, optimism, celebration and mutual support in the school which promotes equality within, and values the diversity of the school community.

We would love you to visit us and find out more. As such, prospective applicants are welcome to contact us if they have any questions or would like to arrange a tour of the academy and have a chance to meet some of our wonderful students. Please contact M Allen - m.allen@hindley.outwood.com should you wish to visit the school and have a tour of the departments to see what we have to offer.
