Job Summary
ThepostholderwillprovideaspecialistservicewithinCAMHStoyoungpeoplewithneurodevelopmental needs and their families. Thisis a community-based post, located withinthe Neurodevelopmental Pathway in HarrowCAMHSofferingflexible,evidence-basedepisodesofcare,assessmentsandtreatmentswithin aPositiveBehaviourSupport(PBS)framework, themainaimof whichwill betoenhancethequalityof life of the children and their families, and reduce challenging behaviour.The post holder will directly contributetothepositiveworkingenvironment withinthemulti-disciplinaryteam andwill berequiredto deliver assessments and interventions in Harrow. The post holder will also deliver training to other professionals and agencies as relevant.
The post holder will provide specialist assessments and interventions to children and young people. Thiswillinvolveundertakingdirectassessmentandinterventionwiththeclientandindirectassessment, monitoringandinterventionwithstaffand/orcarers.Interventionwillincludeworkingacrossavarietyof settings, including home, school and short break services and will involve working with the multi- disciplinaryteam. The post holder will work autonomously alongside clients, families, support workers andprofessionalstoenableotherstobetterunderstandandrespondtobehavioursthatarechallenging.
• To provide comprehensive specialist assessments, including risk assessment of children, youngpeopleandtheirfamilies/carersreferredwithmoderate, complex andseveremental health problems/ behaviours that challenge others using the PBS framework.
• To use a range of assessment techniques including observations, standard measures and questionnaires, direct workandinterviewswithparentsandprofessionalsinordertocollate information required to complete a functional analysis assessment.
• Toformulateandtoberesponsibleforimplementinginpartnershipwithother agencies working with the child/young person a positive behaviour plan/ intervention.
• Tocommunicateinasensitivemannerassessment outcomes/ PBSformulationsandpositive behaviour support plans.
• Toco-ordinateandrunpsycho-educational andtherapeuticgroupsusingthePBSframework with support from the assistant psychologist/team lead.
• Toevaluatetheimplementationandimpactoftheintervention.
• Towriteconfidentialbehaviouralsupportplans,reportsforcaseconferences,andeducation that may have wide ranging implications for children, young people and their families.
• Tobeavailabletocarryouturgentassessments.Assessmentsandinterventionswillbe conducted in school settings, clinic settings, patients’ home and the community.

You will work from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm service for young people experiencing mental health problems in Harrow area. The post will be based within the Ash Tree Clinic, South Harrow and the post holder will be expected to maintain the close links with the Hospital.
The Ash Tree Clinic (Harrow CAMHS) is easily accessible by train from Kings Cross station, Oxford Circus, Euston, and Victoria, within around 45 minutes.
