Salary: Grade 1 scp 2-3 £24,413 £24,796 (FTE) Actual Salary £4,881 - £4,958

Term of Contract: Fixed term (depending on funding)

Working pattern: Term Time Only

Hours per week: Part Time 8.75 hours per week

Start date: January 2026

St Joseph & St Bede are currently seeking a Midday Supervisor. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Trust at the beginning of a journey of transition, development, and growth within the multi-academy trust.

Duties include:

  • Supervise children during lunch breaks in the dining hall, playground, and indoor areas when needed.
  • Promote positive behaviour encourage good manners, help resolve minor conflicts, and follow the school’s behaviour policy.
  • Ensure children’s safety and well-being monitor play areas, manage risks, and provide basic first aid if trained.
  • Support pupils at mealtimes help younger children with opening packages, cutting food, and promoting healthy eating habits.
  • Organise and oversee play activities encourage inclusive, safe, and engaging play.
  • Maintain order and routines ensure smooth transitions between eating and play, line-ups, and returning to class.
  • Report concerns communicate any issues, accidents, or safeguarding concerns to appropriate staff.

We are seeking an individual who has:

  • To undertake the supervision, security, welfare and good conduct of children during the mid-day break.
  • Enforcing the expected standards of school discipline and having regard to special or educational needs.
  • To provide and run activities for the children during indoor and outdoor play.
  • To oversee the dining arrangements, including the hygiene of pupils and the dining area. This will include handwashing, cleaning spillages, insisting on and modelling good table manners.
  • To attend to minor First Aid needs of children in accordance with school policy. This may include recording minor accidents and ensuring that relevant staff are informed and ensuring that more serious accidents are brought to the attention of the First Aider.
  • To liaise closely with the Senior Lunchtime Organiser and class teachers on the welfare and discipline of pupils.
  • To respect the confidentiality of sensitive information from pupils and staff.
