Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- A clear understanding of the current 16-19 educational landscape and safeguarding procedures.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Enhanced Child DBS on the updated service (Willingness to apply for one)
Essential Skills
- Exceptional Subject Knowledge: A deep and current understanding of A Level Psychology and Criminology curricula.
- A Level Pedagogy: Proven ability to teach complex post-16 concepts effectively, using varied instructional methods.
- Differentiated Instruction: Skill in adapting teaching materials to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Classroom Management: Ability to maintain high standards of behaviour and a productive learning environment.
- Effective Assessment: Expertise in formative and summative assessment for student progress tracking and feedback.
- ICT Proficiency: Competence in using relevant technology and e-learning platforms to enhance delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and Deliver engaging lessons for A Level Psychology and Criminology courses.
- Assess, Monitor, and Record student progress accurately, providing timely, constructive feedback.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of subject schemes of work and resources.
- Ensure high levels of student attainment and provide targeted intervention where necessary.
- Act as a personal tutor, offering academic and pastoral guidance to a group of students.
- Participate in departmental meetings and wider college quality assurance processes.
- Maintain a stimulating, safe, and well-organised classroom learning environment.
- Liaise with parents/guardians and external agencies regarding student welfare and progress.
- Uphold the college's policies on behaviour, safeguarding, and equality.
- Contribute to the college's enrichment and extra-curricular programme.
