We are seeking a Sous Chef to join our kitchen team at a senior level. Reporting to the Senior Sous Chef, you will lead the craft team on a day-to-day basis and work alongside the service team to ensure smooth operations.
You will oversee the running of shifts, applying your culinary skills and organisational ability to maintain high standards of food safety and quality.
Job Description
This role involves working across a fine-dining A La Carte restaurant, which serves around 50 covers and focuses on Scottish produce, as well as the hospitality side of the site, including event catering and canapés.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about food and has the ability to manage a team effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage the kitchen team during daily operations.
Oversee food preparation and service for the restaurant and hospitality events.
Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
Work with the service team to deliver a consistent and high-quality experience.
Support menu planning and maintain standards for presentation and taste.
Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and cost control.
Train and develop team members to maintain performance standards.
Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Ideally, experience in a fine-dining restaurant environment.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent culinary skills and attention to detail.
Good organisational and communication abilities.
