MAIN DUTIES OF JOBS
Restaurant and Catering Manager (Wonda Afro Caribbean Restaurant and Bakery)
Overseeing the daily operations of the restaurant, bakery, and catering services, ensuring seamless integration and consistent quality across all areas.
Managing all staff, including recruitment, comprehensive training, performance reviews, and efficient scheduling to meet operational demands.
Ensuring the maintenance of exceptionally high standards of authentic food quality, hygiene, and outstanding customer service that reflects the Afro-Caribbean culture.
Monitoring food and supply inventory levels, placing timely orders, managing vendor relationships, and accurately managing operational budgets.
Developing and implementing targeted marketing and promotional strategies to enhance the visibility of both the restaurant and bakery, and attract new customers.
Handling all customer inquiries and complaints efficiently and professionally, ensuring rapid and satisfactory resolution of issues.
Collaborating closely with chefs and kitchen/bakery staff on menu development, seasonal specials, and pricing strategies.
Ensuring full and continuous compliance with all local health, safety, and food handling regulations (e.g., HACCP standards).
Planning, coordinating, and executing all catering events, from the initial client consultation and contract negotiation to logistics, delivery, and post-event follow-up.
Analysing sales data, customer feedback, and cost reports, then implementing data-driven strategies to increase profitability and reduce waste.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THE JOB:
Restaurant and Catering Manager
Education: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent proven experience).
Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years of proven experience in a managerial role within the restaurant, bakery, or catering industry.
Demonstrated experience in full-cycle staff management, including hiring, comprehensive training, motivation, and performance-based scheduling.
Proven track record of managing budgets, controlling food and labor costs, and efficient inventory and supply ordering.
Experience in developing and successfully implementing local marketing strategies across various platforms.
Thorough familiarity with and strict adherence to health and safety regulations in the food industry.
Specific knowledge of or experience with Afro-Caribbean cuisine and cultural service standards is highly desirable
Skills:
Strong, motivational leadership and team management abilities, focused on fostering a positive work environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication, and strong interpersonal skills for staff, customer, and vendor interaction.
Exceptional customer service orientation and decisive problem-solving skills, particularly under pressure.
A high degree of organisation, with the ability to work under pressure and efficiently manage multiple tasks (restaurant operations, bakery, and catering).
Strong financial acumen, including experience with POS systems, sales analysis, and P&L reporting.
