Role Summary: Parks Inspection and Delivery Operative
Purpose:
To ensure the safe installation, inspection, and maintenance of play areas and other hard landscaping activities in accordance with current safety standards, manufacturer guidelines, and council policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation & Maintenance:
Install play equipment following manufacturer instructions and design drawings.
Carry out repairs and maintenance using appropriate tools and equipment.
Lay various types of safety surfacing (tiles, wet pour, eco mulch, grass matting, bark) to EN1176 standards.
Installation of street furniture - bins, benches, signs
Hard Landscaping - Installation of paths, fences, gates and other landscaping features.
Inspection & Reporting:
Conduct and digitally record inspections using PSS Live or similar systems.
Report major defects to line manager and maintain accurate documentation for compliance.
Vehicle & Equipment Operation:
Safely operate and maintain vehicles and plant.
Ensure all equipment is used in line with company policies and statutory requirements.
The Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled individual to join our Parks and Grounds Team as a Parks Inspection and Delivery Operative. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a small, dynamic construction team responsible for:
Installing and maintaining play areas
Undertaking hard landscaping projects
Constructing and maintaining footpaths
You will work both independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality results within agreed timescales for a variety of clients.
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking candidates who are:
Skilled in using a wide range of machinery and plant (a full driving licence is essential; Category C licence is desirable)
Knowledgeable about health and safety practices, particularly in construction environments
Effective communicators with strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Commercially aware and able to contribute to a unit that generates both internal and external income
