-To provide fundamental nursing care, e.g.,assistancewith personal hygiene, eating and drinking, mobility needs, washing under direct or indirect supervision.
-To carry out limited clinical observations and undertake a range of activities under direct or indirect supervision by a registered nurse, having been assessed asdeemedcompetent in the activitiesrequired.
-Tomaintainhigh clinical standards
-To helpmaintaina clean and safe unit environment.
-To contribute to the department and organization in the provision of a safe and caring environment.
-The postholder may berequiredto work anywhere within the Trust. Key working relationships include all members of the multi-professional team, including nursing and medical staff, allied healthprofessionalsand relevant support workers.
• To providepersonal and social care forpatient.
• To provide psychological support for patients and their families/carers.
• To work as an effective team member collaborating with the other health and social care teams.
• Toassistin thetimelydischarge of patients from the hospital.
You’ll work under the guidance of a healthcare professional such as a nurse and your job will vary depending on where you’re based. In a hospital, responsibilities include:
• washing and dressing patients
• serving meals and helping to feed patients
• helping people to move around
• making beds
• making patients feel comfortable
• monitoring patients’ conditions by taking temperatures, pulse, respirations and weight
Band 3s usually work standard hours of around 37.5 hours per week. However, part time options are also available. Band 3s are paid on the Agenda for Change pay system, starting at band 3.
