Safeguarding Lead – Champion Safety & Best Practice in a Mental Health Hospital


Salary: Up to £31,000


35 hours per week



As the Safeguarding Lead, you’ll guide a dedicated mental health hospital in meeting its statutory duties, strengthening multi-agency collaborations, and embedding best practice across teams. If you’re passionate about advocacy, patient safety, and creating safer care pathways, this position offers both purpose and progression.



What We’re Looking For



  • Health & Social Care qualification (or equivalent)

  • Safeguarding qualification and comprehensive understanding of safeguarding legislation

  • Strong knowledge of multi-agency safeguarding frameworks and procedures

  • Proven experience within safeguarding adults, ideally in a hospital or healthcare setting

  • Ability to advise senior leadership and make informed, confident decisions

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build trust across teams and agencies

Key Responsibilities



  • Provide expert safeguarding advice to clinical and non-clinical teams

  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding legislation and statutory responsibilities

  • Oversee safeguarding adults processes and promote best-practice standards

  • Build strong multi-agency partnerships with local authorities, families and health professionals

  • Support senior leadership with safeguarding insights, governance and risk management

  • Lead on safeguarding training, awareness and quality improvement initiatives

  • Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to investigations where required
